Yes, you can migrate to any area within the UK, and the UK immigration laws don’t restrict you from buying or renting property anywhere in the UK. Many non-residents own properties across the UK. They either rent it or put it under caretaker maintenance, using it on their regular visits. However, mortgage lenders do seek evidence of your immigration status from one area to other areas of the UK when processing a property loan application.
Many visa categories are available under the Immigration Rules of the UK. You can avail any visa permitting you to bring certain family members into the UK. You are free to choose any of these visas as per your preference.
The United Kingdom has steadily evolved into a multi-ethnic and multicultural society thanks to its colonial past. As a result, people, especially from its erstwhile colonies, have been steadily immigrating to the UK. This is most evident in the major cities across the UK like London, Edinburgh, Glasgow, Birmingham, Surrey, and Manchester, where the population is highly diverse. As such, you, as an immigrant, can quickly assimilate and connect with a large number of immigrant people living in UK cities.
You applied for a UK visa, but it was rejected. The top reasons for rejection of a visa are as follows:-
1. Documents NOT presented sequentially: your visa application may only be accepted if the documents in the visa application were placed in the correct chronological order, i.e., presented exactly in sequence as prescribed. Your visa will also be rejected, even if you use incorrect ink to fill the application forms. It may look like a silly reason, but presenting the documents as prescribed is to help make the Home Office’s job of reading your visa application as easy as possible.
2. Correct documents NOT supplied: your visa application may get rejected if you don’t provide all the documents required for processing your visa application. Remember, different types of visas require different types of documentary evidence. So, ensuring that your visa application is specifically about you, all correct documents have been submitted, and nothing has been missed is vital.
3. Specified evidence MISSING: your visa application may only be allowed if any specific detail is included. The guidelines on the UK Home Office website give a general outline and don’t give enough detail. So you mustn’t miss out on even a single document.
4. Believing the UK Home Office will be ‘Lenient’: the UK Home Office never shows leniency regarding visa application processing. You might think that if the requirement for a Spouse Visa includes a basic salary of UKP 18,600 and you earn UKP 18,500, the UK Home Office may show leniency. But even the slightest error may result in your visa application being rejected, so it is better not to leave room for error.
5. Applying for the ‘Wrong’ type of visa: your visa application is rejected, if you apply for the wrong kind of visa. If you wish to move to and settle in the UK, don’t apply for a visit visa. You may think switching your visit visa to a settlement visa will be easy, but it is impossible. The UK laws specifically mention that the ‘switching’ of a visa is not allowed, especially with a visit visa. So make sure you apply for a settlement visa, or your visa application will be refused.
6. Non-disclosure of ‘Previous’ issues: you may have overstayed in the UK on your previous visit. Many times, visa applicants who faced any kind of immigration or legal issues previously don’t mention that in their visa application to the UK. If the UK Home Office finds out later that you had not disclosed issues like bans or criminal convictions related to you, then your visa application will be rejected. So, never mislead or misrepresent any previous issues.
