Overview:

Information Technology (IT) project managers lead their technical team(s) in design and development tasks. They assist the test teams in their efforts to create test plans, and they make sure that the software quality is up to par. Additionally, they coordinate the delivery of development and production releases, making sure that quality assurance standards are met. IT project managers create and maintain project plans to ensure timely completion of tasks, major project milestones, and resource allocation. They also utilize software life cycle methodology.

Tasks:

  1. Coordinate delivery of development (beta) and production releases that meet quality assurance standards.
  2. Assist test team in creating test plans and testing efforts.
  3. Create and maintain an information technology project plan that communicates tasks, milestone dates, status and resource allocation.
  4. Assist technical team in design and development tasks.
  5. Utilize software life-cycle methodology.

Eligibility Criteria:

  1. These positions generally require a bachelor’s degree in a field related to management or other related fields.
  2. Prior leadership experience is a must, as is prior experience working in IT support and/or development.
  3. Some positions specify that the candidate must be a Certified Project Management Professional or is at least working toward certification.

Pay scale:

The pay package of a project manager (IT) ranges between €29,694 – €98,238 and the median pay being €60,914.
